Valerio Chiarotti — Operations ans logistics
Valerio Chiarotti is a California-based importer and distributor of an award-winning portfolio of premium boutique Italian wines, which he aptly describes as “a collection of little gems from diverse winemaking regions”. Being the third generation in a wine trading family and born in Italy, Valerio grew up in the wine business. A veteran in the international wine trade, Valerio started his professional career 25 years ago as the Director of Italian Portfolios for The Henry Wine Group for over a decade. As a recognition of his achievements and success in the wine industry, Valerio was knighted with the title “Cavaliere” by the Italian government in 2010.
An entrepreneur, he built Terravino – a California-based import and distribution company – by creating a dynamic and versatile portfolio that put the most unique and unknown Italian varietals on the global stage. Valerio imports wines that are regularly featured by some of the country’s leading retailers and restaurants in California, Las Vegas, and Colorado. Several wines in his portfolio have been honored with the prestigious Gambero Rosso and Medaglia D’Oro awards, which demonstrate his talent and passion. Using his expertise in business leadership, marketing campaigns, consultative sales, policy and procedure compliance, and customer acquisitions, Valerio aims to help more brands enter the United States’ market by introducing new offerings to an appreciative audience that dares to venture beyond the established names.
